FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE COOLTOUCH CTEVTM ENDOVENOUS LASER NOW APPROVED TO TREAT A WIDER RANGE OF VARICOSE VEINS.

Roseville, CA - September 19, 2005 - CoolTouch Inc., a leading manufacturer of medical lasers since 1994, announced today that on August 9, 2005 its CoolTouch CTEV 1320 nm laser system received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of reflux of the Small Saphenous Vein (SSV) associated with varicose veins and varicosities. The CoolTouch CTEV received initial clearance by the FDA in the fall of 2004 to treat reflux of the Great Saphenous Vein (GSV).

Varicose veins, which affect more than 50% of people 50 years of age and older, can be caused by reflux of several different veins, the most common being the GSV. According to a study presented at the 30th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society of Interventional Radiology, "in at least 20% of patients, which equals millions of people in the Unites States alone, varicose veins are caused by non-great saphenous veins or a combination of both types." Non-great saphenous veins, which include the small saphenous vein, are a frequent but often under-diagnosed cause of varicose veins. With this recent FDA clearance, the CoolTouch CTEV can treat a wider range of varicose veins, including both the GSV and SSV.

"This new clearance is great news," states David R. Hennings, CEO of CoolTouch Inc. "The CoolTouch CTEV non-surgical treatment for varicose veins has been available to the public for almost a year now, and we have had tremendous success in treating reflux of the GSV and helping patients rid themselves from unsightly and painful varicose veins. With the CTEVâ being cleared for treatment of the SSV, our physician users will be able to offer this highly effective, minimally invasive solution to an even larger segment of the market afflicted with varicose veins."

The CoolTouch CTEV enjoys a unique position in the endovenous laser market. It is the only 1320 nm Nd:YAG endovenous laser and its mechanism of action of targeting water in the vein wall versus hemoglobin allows it to successfully close the affected vein(s) more efficiently than other endovenous lasers. The CTEV's targeted energy delivery results in a more comfortable procedure for the patient without sacrificing its procedural effectiveness, and it also makes it an excellent treatment modality for reflux of the SSV.

According to endovenous expert Dr. Robert Weiss, associate clinical professor of dermatology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, "The unique tissue target and controlled energy delivery of the CoolTouch CTEV 1320 nm endovenous laser is ideally suited for safe treatment of the small saphenous vein. Due to proximity to adjacent nerves, the gentle vein shrinkage provided by the CoolTouch CTEV laser is ideal."

Also purporting the benefits of using the CoolTouch CTEV for treatment of the SSV is Mark D. Forrestal, MD, FACPh, Treasurer of the American College of Phlebology. Dr. Forrestal states, "Therapy of the small saphenous vein system presents particular challenges related to inconsistent origins, multiple tributaries, incompetent perforators as well as its superficial orientation along the posterior thigh and calf. The CTEV at 1320 nm, because of its selective energy absorption by the vein wall, has resulted in predictable fibrosis in a variety of clinical settings. The CTEV is a welcome next generation in vein treatment."
